A landscape designer’s own award winning garden.
And her house. All for you.

Kathleen Murphy is a landscape designer, with her gardens seen in publications such as Green, Australian House & Garden, Home Beautiful, Country Style, Gardens Illustrated, The Design Files and ABC Dream Gardens. Her own garden in Gisborne was the winner of the Landscape Design category of The Design Files + Laminex Design Awards in 2020.

This garden was created as a place for her family, as well as for experimenting with new plants for her projects. Designed to frame the mountain views and create a lush green vista when viewed from the house, it has layers of robust, textured plantings.

House

Beautifully styled by Belle Hemming, each of the four guest rooms (sleeping 9 people) feature views out onto the stunning garden.

Amenities provided include a full kitchen, pantry, laundry, two bathrooms (one with a bath and accessible shower), two living areas, two fireplaces, high speed internet and HD Smart TV.

Garden

The two acre garden is all yours to explore. Meander around the billabong, chance upon the grotto, and pick herbs in the cottage garden for your meals. You can sit around the fire pit, cook a bbq, and pick fresh lemons off the tree.

Kathleen’s studio is a beautiful timber building in the middle of the garden, and is coming in 2023 as another accommodation offering.

Located just a few minutes drive from Gisborne, Macedon Views House & Garden is the perfect country retreat. Snuggle on the couch in front of the wood fire place, or gather with friends around the outside fire pit.

All aspects of your stay have been carefully considered, down to luxury linen/towels and premium Australian-made hand wash and body soap.

At Macedon View House & Garden, we take looking after the environment and giving back to the local area seriously.

A program of carbon offsetting has been established along the neighbouring Jackson’s Creek, whereby a tree is planted for each stay at Macedon View House & Garden. The intention is to rehabilitate the creek and to increase biodiversity and available habitat for native fauna and flora.

All linen is washed in eco-friendly detergents, using a steam cycle so your sheets meet the highest hygiene standards.

All water used in the house (including toilets& showers) is treated onsite and reused in the garden. We provide recycling for soft plastics (our local council has their own program) and the house is equipped with solar panels.

Your stay at Macedon View House & Garden not only rejuvenates you, but also the local environment.
